15. Mr. Wardasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware of the continued shortage of married quarters for officers and other ranks in the Canal Zone; and what steps he is taking to provide accommodation for families waiting to join their husbands in that zone.
§ Mr. StracheyApproval has been given for the construction of a further 220 temporary married quarters in 1950–51, and a scheme has been approved to provide a further 80 married quarters by leasing flats from a contractor.
