Mr. Emrys Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if, when considering the attitude of His Majesty's Government to the French Government's plan for a common policy on the production of coal and steel between France and Germany, he will examine the possibility of inviting all European countries interested in coal and steel production to join in formulating a common production policy for Europe.
§ Mr. Ernest DaviesAll aspects of the French proposal are under careful examination. Since, however, this is a French initiative, any general invitation, such as the hon. Member suggests, might come most appropriately from the French Government.
