HC Deb 04 May 1950 vol 474 c234W
Mr. Llewellyn

asked the Minister of Education how many school places it is estimated will be required in Cardiff in 1953; and whether he anticipates a deficiency.

Mr. Tomlinson

It is estimated that the number of pupils on the registers of maintained primary and secondary schools in Cardiff in January, 1953, will be 37,280, an increase of 4,220 over the number in January, 1949. The full implementation of the local education authority's approved building programmes will provide 4,350 additional places.
