HC Deb 04 May 1950 vol 474 cc236-7W
147. Squadron-Leader A. E. Cooper

asked the President of the Board of Trade if the needs of the paint, linoleum and printing ink industries for the months of January, February, March and April, 1950, for linseed oil have been adequately met: and if he will consider the abandonment of Government control of distribution.

Mr. Boftomley

Increases in the allocations of linseed oil to the paint, linoleum and printing ink industries have been made since the end of 1949, and with a further increase made for May, the total quantities available for consumption are now, I consider, likely to be adequate. The continuation of Government control of distribution to individual users is already under consideration.
