Mr. Anthony Greenwoodasked the Minister of Health what was the amount spent on surgical and medical requirements by regional hospital boards and teaching hospitals in England and Wales during the last convenient period of 12 months; and what proportion of that expenditure was attributable to Purchase Tax.
§ Mr. BevanThe revised estimates of regional hospital boards and teaching hospitals in England and Wales show that for the year ending 31st March, 1950, the amount spent on surgical and medical requirements will be about £13,280,000. The proportion of this expenditure attributable to Purchase Tax is not known but is thought to be quite small.
§ 103. Sir I. Fraserasked the Minister of Health if it is his intention to publish accounts of individual hospitals, or of hospital groups.
