§ Mr. Hurdasked the Minister of Food the c.i.f. prices paid by the Government for the main categories of feedingstuffs imported during the past year; what were the administrative costs of his Department in dealing with such feedingstuff,; and what profit or loss was made by the Department in re-selling supplies to merchants in this country.
§ Mr. WebbThe average c.i.f. cost per ton of the main categories of feedingstuffs imported by my Department in 1949 was as follows:

In addition, there are costs of landing, duty, storage, carriage and so on. The sale of feedingstuffs at subsidised prices in the present year to 31st March, 1950, will result in approximately the following trading loss per ton:
