§ 97. Commander Nobleasked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he will make available the holiday double petrol ration as from 1st May for the benefit of those who have to take their holiday in that month.
§ Mr. Noel-BakerI regret that the standard petrol ration books cannot be printed and distributed by 1st May. But I hope to make them available to the general public from 8th May, and the coupons in the books can be used from that date. The hon. Member will, I am sure, remember that the petrol coupons which will be used for the summer bonus are for the rationing period June—November and that, therefore, special action is required to make them available before June.
