HC Deb 23 March 1950 vol 472 c126W
Mr. Hastings

asked the Minister of Health (1) how many health centres are under construction by new building and adaptation, respectively; and how many more have been sanctioned;

(2) how many doctors have signified their willingness to transfer their practices to health centres; how many of these are regarded as suitable; and in how many cases the necessary arrangements have been made.

Mr. Bevan

One new building is under construction: one other new building and one adaptation have been approved: other schemes are under consideration. I have no information as to the numbers of doctors willing to transfer their practices to health centres. The present building situation would in any case make it impossible to provide health centres for all doctors who would like it.
