§ 70. Mr. G. Jegerasked the President of the Board of Trade what quantities of spectacle frames have been imported during the past year; and whether he is aware that British manufacturers are now able to supply the needs of the home market.

WilsonSeparate figures for imports of spectacle frames are not available, but imports during 1949 of frames and mountings for spectacles, goggles, eyeglasses, monocles and parts of such frames and mountings amounted to £106,731. The quantities are not recorded. I am aware that the production of spectacle frames in this country has increased.
