§ 77. Mr. Spearmanasked the Minister of National Insurance why fishermen were refused unemployment benefit between the middle of February and 6th March, when they were out of work through no fault of their own, but because of the strike of the engineers on the Hull trawlers.
§ Dr. SummerskillClaims made by certain fishermen were disallowed during the period in question on the ground that their loss of employment arose from a trade dispute affecting both fishermen and engineers. The matter is, however, still before the statutory authorities, as some of the fishermen have appealed to the local tribunal against this decision.
