§ Sir S. CrippsThe ordinary sterling release to be made to the Government of Israel under the terms of the Agreed 39W Minute signed on 10th February is£3,000,000. His Majesty's Government have also agreed to release£4,000,000 to constitute a working balance which Israel has not had hitherto; and sterling to pay for Israel's essential requirements of oil supplies of£250,000 a month for the months of November and December, 1949, and up to a maximum of£435,000 a month in 1950, for so long as these supplies cannot be obtained, as they would in normal circumstances, from the Haifa refinery.
