Bennettasked the Minister of Fuel and Power what negotiations he has entered into, and what discussions he has had with his colleagues, about the establishment of an oil refinery or storage plant by the Caltex Company on the eastern side of Southampton Water in the Hook or Brownwich areas of the Fareham urban district.
§ Mr. P. Noel-BakerA proposal was submitted for the erection of an oil refinery somewhere on Southampton Water between Portsmouth and Southampton and has been approved in principle by His Majesty's Government; but the precise locality is still under consideration.
