HC Deb 14 June 1950 vol 476 c17W
33. Brigadier Clarke

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty what is causing the delay in the issue of prize money and medals to widows and next-of-kin.

Mr. Callaghan

As I informed the hon. and learned Member for Ilford, North (Mr. G. Hutchinson) on 24th May, claims to prize money from personal representatives of deceased officers and men need special consideration. The same is true of claims to medals. Work is now being speeded up, and I hope that all claims from widows and other personal representatives will be settled by the end of the year.
