HC Deb 27 July 1950 vol 478 c129W
135. Mr. Fernyhough

asked the Minister of Labour whether he has yet received the report of the Catering Wages Commission.

Mr. Isaacs

Yes. The Report is comprehensive and deals in considerable detail with the various questions which I put to the Commission in my direction, as well as with other matters that emerged in the course of the inquiry. The Commission have arrived at a number of unanimous conclusions which I am now considering. I propose to publish the Report with the least possible delay and copies will be available to hon. Members through the Vote Office about the second week in August.

I wish to take this opportunity of expressing my appreciation to the Commission for the thoroughness and care with which they have carried out this important inquiry and in particular to the Chairman who assumed his duties at short notice and at considerable personal inconvenience. I have no doubt that the Report will be of the greatest value to the industry.
