Mr. Macdonaldasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will issue invitations to Dominion and Foreign Governments to moor steamers in the Thames to act as floating hotels during the Festival of Britain with a view to enabling a greater number of people to see the festival than can be accommodated in London hotels.
§ Mr. BottomleyThe mooring of a ship in the Thames is one of the measures under consideration for increasing accommodation for overseas visitors to the Festival of Britain. If for any reason no British vessel is available for this purpose my right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport and I will certainly bear in mind the hon. Member's suggestion.
