§ 83. Major Beamishasked the Secretary of State for War if he will make a statement on the serious shortage of suitable instructors in the Territorial Army for training the National Service intakes over the next few years; and what proposals he has to remedy this shortage.
§ Mr. StracheyEvery effort is being made to remedy the deficiency in the number of suitable instructors in the Territorial Army by encouraging experienced men to join. It is also hoped that a considerable proportion of National Service men will, on transfer from whole to part-time service, become volunteers themselves, and provide a source of junior, and later more experienced, instructors.
