§ 90. Captain Orrasked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the recent outbreaks of poliomyelitis and other infectious diseases, he will take steps to prevent the import of unlaundered textiles from Far Eastern sources.
§ Mr. BevanI am advised that there is no evidence that poliomyelitis is conveyed in this way. As to other diseases, there are various powers already contained in the International Sanitary Convention; but if the hon. Member will let me know what particular suggestions he has in mind I will gladly consider them.
