§ 12. Mr. Shepherdasked the Minister of Labour if he is aware of the dissatisfaction caused by the new conditions of entry for factory inspectors; and if, in view of the value of industrial experience, he will revert to the usual practice.
§ Mr. IsaacsIf there is any dissatisfaction it must be due to a misunderstanding. Although the minimum age of recruitment for factory inspectors has been reduced from 23 to 21, the conditions of entry have not otherwise been altered. The Regulations have never stipulated industrial experience as a necessary qualification and candidates without such experience have always been eligible to apply and have been appointed.
