§ 73. Mr. Grimondasked the Minister of Transport whether he will consider giving special assistance for the upkeep of roads to those counties in which there are no trunk roads.
§ Mr. BarnesNo. The rates of grant to the maintenance of roads are fixed by reference to the through-traffic value of the roads as indicated by their classification. The allocation of grant money and the expenditure to be incurred on trunk roads in a county are determined by such considerations as the general condition of the roads and the weight of traffic using them.
