22. Mr. I. O. Thomasasked the Minister of Health how many children in the area covered by the Group 15, Shrewsbury Hospital Management Committee are on the waiting list for treatment and operation in regard to tonsils and adenoids; and what steps are being taken to improve the present available facilities for treatment and operation in such cases and thus reduce the period of waiting, especially in those cases coming under the categories of emergency and urgency.
§ Mr. BevanHospitals in this group have 1,550 children on waiting lists, but no emergency or urgent cases. The appointment of an additional consultant is proposed. These children are not all from the Shrewsbury area—about 550 are from other areas.
