Mr. Cooper-Keyasked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the seasonal unemployment in the painting and decorating trade, he will consult with the Minister of Works with a view to restoring the system of U licences; and whether he is yet in a position to reply to the appeal recently made to him by the rural district council of Battle on this subject.
§ Mr. BevanEmployment in the building industry throughout the country is kept under continuous review and the information available does not indicate that there are any exceptional circumstances in the Battle rural district. The rural district council are being informed accordingly.
