§ 107. Sir H. Williamsasked the Postmaster-General if he will consider extending the number of weekly hours of employment of part-time night telephonists, having regard to the fact that the present 15-hour period of duty provides them with inadequate remuneration, and deprives them of sick pay, holidays and other privileges of service.
§ Mr. Ness EdwardsThis is a part-time grade, and subject to the needs of the service, restriction of weekly hours of part-time telephonists to 15 applies only to those who have other Government employment on a full-time basis with the privileges attached to such employment. If the hon. Member has a particular case in mind I shall be glad to look into it.
