Mr. Odeyasked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the dangers arising from the passage of the Leeds—Hull trunk road, A. 63, through Howden, and the unlikelihood of any by-pass of Howden being constructed in the foreseeable future, he will give favourable consideration to the recommendations of the East Riding County Council for the reconstruction of Batty's Lane, Howden, as a public highway.

§ Mr. BarnesI have carefully considered the Council's proposals but cannot see my way to approve them. I am, however, arranging to improve the corner of Batty's Lane in order to ease traffic conditions.
