asked the Minister of Supply how many new cars and trucks have been registered during the most recent 12 months for which figures are available by Government Departments; local government departments; nationalised industries; and the general public, respectively.

Approximately 143,000 new cars and 100,000 new goods vehicles were registered during the 12 months ended 31st March, 1950. These figures include registrations by local government authorities and nationalised undertakings, details of which are not available, as well as 591 new cars and 825 new goods vehicles registered by Government Departments.
