§ Mr. TomlinsonOn the basis of the revised estimates of local education authorities for the financial year 1949–50, the total estimated expenditure on teachers' salaries in maintained schools and other maintained educational institutions amounted to about £104,723,800, representing about 43 per cent. of the authorities total estimated net expenditure on all Ministry of Education services.
