§ Mr. IsaacsMuch of the recent increase in unemployment is seasonal and I expect a substantial increase in employment in the next few weeks. There is not sufficient industry in the area to provide work for all the workers available. My Department is in close touch with the Board of Trade which has encouraged further industrial development in the Portsmouth district and will continue to do so within the limits of its powers.
