§ 87. Mr. A. Lewisasked the Minister of Health if he will take some action to assist elderly people living alone and without relatives or known friends, who are chronically ill, to obtain admittance into a hospital within a reasonable period of time, when this is deemed necessary by the doctor concerned.
§ Mr. BevanSteps are already taken by hospitals together with the medical officers of health to give priority to those whose medical or social need is greatest; but shortage of nursing staff is the chief difficulty.
