§ 77. Mr. Emrys Robertsasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will introduce legislation to enlarge the composition and powers of the Monopolies and Restrictive Practices Commission, so as to enable it to deal effectively, without delay, with all the matters referred to it.
§ Mr. BottomleyThe Commission's membership and staff could be enlarged without further legislation; but, before considering whether changes are necessary in the Commission's organisation or structure, we propose to wait for their reports on their first investigations. There is no reason to doubt that their existing powers are amply sufficient to enable them to obtain all the information required for the purpose of their investigations.
