HC Deb 04 April 1950 vol 473 c123W
14. Sir G. Jeffreys

asked the Secretary of State for War to what extent leave to the United Kingdom is normally granted to Regular officers and other ranks serving in North Africa, Malaya and Hong Kong, respectively; and under what conditions and for what periods such leave is granted.

Mr. Strachey

Such leave is not normally granted, save on compassionate grounds, until the completion of a three years' tour of service.
