WilliamsIt is estimated that for the United Kingdom as a whole the average annual yield of milk per cow in milk or in calf has increased from 509 gallons in 1946–47 (June to May) to 566 gallons in 1948–49. Milk yields are influenced by a number of factors, and it is not possible to say to what extent the increase is due to those referred to in the Question.
