HC Deb 24 November 1949 vol 470 c53W
Sir E. Graham-Little

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that, since he announced his decision to install traffic lights, a woman was knocked down and killed at the junction of Medway Parade and Western Avenue; that on representations being made to the police, the answer was given that there were no officers to carry out adequate supervision as undertaken by him; and if he will make arrangements to have proper police control at this point until traffic lights are installed.

Mr. Barnes

The police controlled traffic at this junction during the busy hours from the day following the accident until 21st November, when the light signals came into operation.
