HC Deb 24 November 1949 vol 470 cc42-3W
Mr. Bossom

asked the Minister of Health if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT the complete list of the names of all the permits, regulations, controls and priorities required or to be complied with by a builder who desires to build a worker's house, and the authority or Department from which each of these is to be obtained.

Mr. Bevan

A private builder has to obtain the approval of the planning authority to the site and plans for a new house and to apply to the Central Land Board for determination of development charge. Under present conditions, a licence has also to be obtained from the housing authority, who will give priority to houses for agricultural workers and miners. The plans of the house have to be approved by the local authority under the building by-laws and in certain cases the consent of the highway authority may also be necessary.
