HC Deb 24 November 1949 vol 470 cc48-9W
68. Mr. Shepherd

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury if he is aware of the excessive space used by Departments in advertising appointments vacant; and whether, in view of the pressure on small advertisement columns and the need for economy, he will direct that space shall not exceed that normally used by commercial firms for similar purposes.

Mr. Glenvil Hall

The space taken is the minimum necessary to give the essential details of the posts advertised.
