§ Captain Bullockasked the the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will institute an inquiry as to the causes of the recent fire in the Gladstone Dock, Liverpool, and into the precautions against fire in force in the sheds containing valuable export cargo, so as to ensure that these precautions are kept on a satisfactory basis; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. EdeI have called for reports on the circumstances of this fire including the precautions which had been taken; and when I have studied the reports I will consider whether any further inquiry or other action on my part is desirable.
