HC Deb 23 November 1949 vol 470 c32W
54. Mr. Vane

asked the Minister of Food whether he is satisfied with the quality of the oats imported from Russia; and how their feeding value compares with oats grown in this country.

Dr. Summerskill:

The first shipment of oats purchased under our current contract with Russia has not yet arrived in this country. Those purchased under the previous contract are of good feeding quality and compare quite favourably with feeding oats grown in the United Kingdom.
