HC Deb 23 November 1949 vol 470 c40W
14. Brigadier Medlicott

asked the Secretary of State for Air if he is aware that the 21 acres of land proposed to be requisitioned by his Department at Walcot, Norfolk, is first-class agricultural land and being actively farmed; that nearby there is other land of less agricultural value; and if he will have the proposal re-examined before a final decision is taken.

Mr. de Freitas:

A proposal to buy this land was made only after preliminary local discussions had shown that it was open to less objection from local interests than any other site. A final decision has not been made yet and if the hon. and gallant Member will send me details of his suggested alternatives, I will gladly have them examined.
