§ 86. Mr. T. Reidasked the Minister of Labour what steps he has taken to provide employment for the 25,000 employees of the railways discharged owing to the reductions in railway staffs by 25,000 since the railways were nationalised.
§ Mr. IsaacsThe normal placing machinery of the employment exchange service has been used for railway workers who have registered for work as a result of redundancy. The number registering has been small, and in general there has been no difficulty in placing them in other employment.
