§ Mr. IsaacsSeparate statistics of the numbers employed on ship-repairing work are not available for 1938. As regards 1945, 1948 and 1949, the following table shows the numbers of operatives employed on ship repair and conversion work by firms which rendered returns in September of those years. The figures exclude all Admiralty dockyards, and they also exclude administrative, technical and clerical staffs.
