§ 101. Mr. Loganasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware of the illicit traffic in stowaways from the West Coast of Africa and the West Indies to Liverpool; and if he will hold an inquiry with a view to ending this traffic.
Mr. Creech JonesI am well aware of this problem and in consultation with other Departments am about to propose further measures to the Colonial Governments concerned. Until these Governments have received and considered my suggestions, I think it would be premature to consider the necessity for an inquiry.
