§ Sir S. CrippsThe figures given in the publication were based on the Budget Estimates for 1949–1950. Some of the Government's economy proposals will be reflected in reductions in items of expenditure included in the Estimates. To that extent the figures will require to be modified but exact calculations of the modifications necessary can only be made in the light of the Budget outturn.
