Hannonasked the Minister of Health the extent to which housing schemes in Birmingham will be affected by the cuts in public expenditure now contemplated by the Government; if buildings in process of erection will be continued without interruption; and if he will keep in view the grave shortage of houses as indicated by the volume of applications now before the estates committee of the city.
§ Mr. BevanI am issuing a circular to local authorities on the effects on housing of the reduction in public expenditure and will send a copy to the hon. Member. I may say at once that the answer to the second and third parts of the Question is "Yes."
