§ Mr. IsaacsDuring 1948, the appointments offices filled 3,121 posts for women and on 9th May, 1949, 905 vacancies for women were outstanding. Corresponding figures for the nursing appointments offices are 12,182 posts filled during 1948 and 32,573 vacancies outstanding on 31st March, 1949. Figures for the technical and scientific register are not available.
