§ 9. Commander Nobleasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware of the difficulties experienced in Jamaica in booking passages to this country by sea or air; and what steps he is taking in this matter.
Mr. Creech JonesYes. Further ships will be brought into service very shortly. Meanwhile arrangements have been made for a steamship homeward-bound from Australia to call at Jamaica about the middle of June.
With regard to air passages, the withdrawal of the Tudor aircraft from passenger service has created a temporary shortage of capacity, but temporary arrangements are being made with B.O.A.C. and other companies.
