§ Mr. Carmichaelasked the Minister of Transport if he has any statement to 4W make on the representations made to him by Glasgow Corporation to examine the transport undertakings serving Glasgow and adjacent areas with special reference to the possibility of the electrification of the railway system covering these areas.
§ Mr. BarnesYes. After consultation with my right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for Scotland, I have discussed this question with the British Transport Commission and they are proposing to set up a Committee to examine the problem and to act in close consultation with the Corporation of Glasgow.
