§ Mr. Langford-Holtasked the Minister of Food how many officers of his Department have power to enter private houses; and how many times this power has been exercised in the last two years.
§ Mr. StracheyNone. An officer of my Department, exactly like any other person, has power to enter a private house only if he is named in a search warrant granted to a constable and accompanies the constable in his search, as provided by Defence Regulation 88A. I could not say, without making inquiries of each officer concerned, how often this has been done in the last two years.
