Friend to the reply I gave him on 15th February last and to a supplementary140W answer given to the noble Lord the Member for South Dorset (Viscount Hinchingbrooke) which arose on a Question put by the hon. Member for Shrewsbury (Mr. Langford-Holt) on 24th March. Many items of potential military value are already subject to export licensing control in our security interests. An order has been signed today and will become operative on 8th April extending this control over a wider range of these goods. His Majesty's Government will continue to keep the position under close review, and export control will be extended to other items where this course is necessary in our security interests.
