EdwardsBy the end of January, 1949 (the latest date for which figures are available), 146 new factories and extensions of 5,000 square feet or over had been completed in the South Wales Development Area, with a total floorspace of about 5,500,000 square feet at an estimated cost of £8,500,000. These factories cover the production of a wide range of capital and consumer goods.
