§ 41. Mr. T. Reidasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what capital sum has been invested in Britain since July, 1945, in such direct immediate wealth-producing things as mines, land reclamation, factories, power stations, ports, transport, and in capital investments such as housing, schools, hospitals not immediately directly producing wealth.
