§ Mr. ShinwellA scheme of compensation for Regular soldiers (including those in married quarters) who were serving with the British Army in Burma at the outbreak of war and who lost their possessions as a result of the Japanese invasion has been approved and out of some 130 claims received, about 80 have been dealt with. The remainder are under examination; in many of these cases, advances have been made pending final settlement of the claims.
