§ Mr. S. Marshallasked the Minister of Labour at what age post office and railway workers who are granted deferment between the ages of 18 and 20 years because of their employment are expected to do their period of National Service.
§ Mr. IsaacsNeither Post Office nor railway workers are granted deferment because of their employment. Those undergoing an approved course of apprenticeship or professional training can, however, apply to have their calling up deferred until the end of their period of training. The age at which they are eventually called up will depend upon the age at which they start the course of apprenticeship or professional training and its duration.
